Vegan Energy Balls
Matcha is an increasingly popular, lighter shade of green tea. With tea you might get some nutrients but we are throwing away the best bits. However, with matcha you are absorbing all the nutrients.
A good matcha is smooth and slightly sweet in taste. Matcha is taking over with matcha desserts and matcha latte; however here a simple snack to get in benefits of matcha without altering your tea.
Benefits of Matcha
- Helps lose weight - green tea extract helps increase metabolism and fat burning, both of which may aid weight loss
- Boosts brain function - Matcha has been shown to improve attention, memory, and reaction time. It also contains caffeine and L-theanine, which can improve several aspects of brain function.
- Protects the liver – Matcha prevent liver damage and decrease the risk of liver disease.
1 tbsp. matcha powder
1 cup (80g) desiccated coconut
¼ cup (50g) coconut flour
1 scoop (25g) vanilla protein powder (vegan mix)
2 tbsp. coconut oil
3 tbsp. maple syrup
Add all ingredients into a food processor and pulse until well combined.
Form into 12 balls with your hands and store in the fridge for up to 7 days.
