Why should you get some Matcha Tea?
Do you know the different grades to Matcha Tea?
Ceremonial grade Matcha Green Tea.
I came across this term when I was reading through the book Fiber Fueled (highly suggest you read it!)
I did not even know Matcha tea had different grades to it!
So Matcha tea comes in two different kinds, ceremonial and culinary.
The ceremonial grade is literally named after its ‘ceremonial’ properties. It stages itself at the center during Japanese ceremonies. This grade is more expensive and tastes sweeter than the culinary grade. The latter is used for baking and cooking.
Though both grades come from the same plant, they are harvested at different times and thus have different properties.
How is Matcha tea different from regular green tea?
Matcha tea has a little over 100 times the antioxidant content of green tea! It has been widely studied as boosting fat uptake during exercise and helping people lose more weight for the same exercise time (hack!).
1 gram of matcha tea has more antioxidants than blueberries and more beta-carotenes than orange juice. If we are talking about getting the maximum micronutrients for the minimum number of calories, Matcha tea is it.
What’s more? Fibroid management!
There is research done on the benefits of green tea to help reduce fibroid size. Matcha tea being more potent could be beneficial.
Need a summer-friendly recipe? Iced Matcha tea latte.
-
In a glass jar, mix the matcha green tea powder with a little bit of water – just enough to form a paste. Stir it up until there are no clumps.
-
Add almond milk and maple syrup (optional). Cover with a tight-fitting lid and shake vigorously until incorporated. Let sit for a minute so any remaining clumps settle to the bottom. Carefully pour into a glass with ice and enjoy!
