3 Tips to Start your Day the Right Way

Here are the three things I do first thing in the morning...

My morning routine helps make my entire day productive and fruitful. These daily practices have helped me become much more organized and calm.

1. Non-Doing or Meditation

I literally do this on my bed as soon as I wake up. Lately, I have been following the Silva Meditation technique to help me slow my thought traffic and go deeper in silence. My bedside meditation often lasts for several minutes before I go to freshen up and come back for another short meditation session if time permits.

2. Sun- time

It takes your circadian cycle 20 minutes of sunlight exposure to reset itself. Sunlight exposure wakes your internal organs from a slumber and shuts the production of melatonin (sleep hormone). Because I wake up around 6 am, the sun is not always up and I might not do this first thing in the morning. But I make sure to let the sun touch my skin for at least 20 minutes before 10 am.

It could even be sitting by the window and working on my laptop.

3. Give Yourself Time off Your Phone

Keep yourself away from your phone for some time after you wake up. Even if it is just 15 minutes. Allow yourself to be bored, since nowadays, we have lost the art of being bored.

Allow yourself to not get distracted, allow yourself to have thoughts and creativity flow. And the only way this can be achieved is by staying away from gadgets.

I try and stay away from my phone the first hour of waking up. Just don’t take the phone to the bathroom.

Trust this helps,
